Steve and his team have done a fantastic job converting our loft into two bedrooms and a shower room. They have been a pleasure to have in the house, very punctual, really tidy and always friendly. I wouldn’t hesitate to recommend them.

Very happy with recent bathroom/study conversion done by Steve Tucker. Steve was recommended by a neighbour and he has done an excellent job. I found Steve and his team to be cheerful, efficient, friendly and professional. They turned up good and early every day, worked hard, and cleared up before leaving each day. Throughout the process, Steve listened to our preferences/concerns/priorities and make good decisions with materials/design/etc in the light of what we wanted. Very happy with the results. Steve and his team are in huge demand! Over 1 year after he was highly recommended by friends, he came and converted our loft room into a dormer with en suite.Throughout the whole process (initial visits, quotes, getting the work done, finishing touches etc), Steve and his team have been very professional, punctual, helpful, tidy and importantly jolly to deal with. Another great aspect is how quickly he responds to any communication. At first, we were a bit clueless about the whole process, but Steve gave us useful guidance, whilst also going along with any of our own calls (like cork flooring – which we organised separately to the build – and open tread stairs to the loft).We found the payment system was transparent and having several phased instalments gave us confidence we were always paying for the most current costs. We couldn’t be more delighted with the result and have already highly recommended him toseveral neighbours.

He kept us informed of all timings throughout and came to us for decisions in plenty of time and was more than happy to go with what our requirements were. When the work began Steve was always on site, kept noise and mess to a minimum and cleared up at the end of the day. Are excellent. Steve is honest, doesn’t oversell and he and his team have built out our loft adding 2 bedrooms, shower room and snug (tv room/utility space). They also took on removing a chimney to open up the room it was in, and provide us with more space up in the loft.

Steve refurbished our existing dormer loft conversion in early 2024. We couldn’t be happier with both the outcome of the work and the approach Steve took throughout the process. The existing dormer had been poorly constructed and needed extensive stripping back to bring it up to modern standards. Steve kept me informed throughout explaining issues as they arose and offering solutions to any problems encountered. We also had a number of bespoke requests which he was able to accommodate to ensure we achieved the end result we were hoping for. Overall, Steve and his team were brilliant and we feel very fortunate that we chose them to complete the work on our loft. I would not hesitate to recommend him to friends.

HI Steve, here is a reference that we’d be happy for you to use for prospective new jobs – sorry took a while! We used TLC back in 2014 for a loft conversion in our old house and had a great experience. So, having moved house since then and keen to do another loft conversion we had no hesitation turning to Steve again to get a quotation. He provided a quick and thorough quotation and was great at letting us know when he was starting, how long the job would take and so we made the decision to proceed with TLC. Steve stuck to the timings he had set out and there were no surprises on the cost, all of which was as per the original quotation. When we had asked for a couple of bits of additional work, this all turned out exactly as he had quoted. The job was more complex than the last one TLC did for us and included virtually a full roof rebuild with the construction of a large dormer and has given us a new bedroom, separate bathroom and an extra storage room. Steve’s attention to detail is fantastic and his patience with the odd change is amazing. Nothing is too much trouble and Steve has always been polite, tidy, professional and a pleasure to have around. Having used Steve before, we knew that he would be on the job himself daily – which he was, and we had confidence in all the other trades (plasterer, electrician etc) that he brought in. The results are amazing, we are really pleased and have had lots of compliments from visitors and neighbours, many of who say how well the new space matches in with the original house.

We had 5 quotes in total for our velux loft conversion and Steve at Tuckers Loft Conversions stood out by far. He was approachable, knowledgeable and took time to answer our questions. We saw the work progress quickly within the first few weeks of work starting. Steve and team were reliable, hard working and we felt at ease. We were happy that the work was completed to the estimated timeframe and budget given. During the process communication was efficient and any issues that arose (nothing to do with TLC) were discussed and mutually solved. Steve has been amazing from the start to finish of our loft conversion project. There are so many things we liked about Tucker’s Loft Conversions, we’ll have to give you a top five. Steve, Lewis and the team converted our loft with a dormer window & ensuite washroom in summer 2016, and did a brilliant job.
1.    Quality of workmanship. We’ve got annoyingly high standards, but we could see from the outset that Steve is someone who just does things properly. It was very refreshing to have someone like that working on our house. The finish is excellent.
2.    Reliability & project management. Steve and Lewis arrived first thing every morning and got straight down to work. The conversion was finished on time and on budget. 
3.    Flexibility. Steve’s experience is obvious in the way that he figures out different ways a conversion could work, and can fine tune the design as he goes along. A much more intelligent approach than sticking rigidly to one drawing. Issues with planning meant we were obliged to adjust our design several times. Steve took this in his stride and helped us figure out how to create the best possible space. He was happy to add in a few extras we asked for, at a very reasonable cost.
4.    Communication. Steve was very easy to get hold of, so we pestered the poor man constantly. He was very good about discussing each stage of the work with us, listening to what we wanted and explaining how it could work. He also has a really nice way of communicating with his team. They obviously respect him a lot, and they work together really well.
5.    Consideration. It was no bother at all having Steve and Lewis in the house, they made themselves at home in an unobtrusive way. They were very sweet with our kids and always left the place really tidy. The only negative thing we have to say is that Steve’s singing was so bad it made my four year old daughter cry. With laughter thankfully.

We have no hesitation recommending Tucker’s Loft Conversions. Actually, we haven’t stopped recommending them since they finished the job, so it might be a while until they’re free, but it’s worth the wait!

Steve Tucker impressed us throughout the entire building process. While not the cheapest, his quote was certainly the most detailed and thorough. It also was by no means the most expensive, and included allowances for finished items such as tiles, doors and bathroom fittings. We’d also seen a neighbour’s loft and they recommended him without reservation. All of this gave us the confidence to book him and we’re so happy we did since we’ve now got a loft space that’s even better than we’d hoped for. Steve and Lewis were always friendly, helpful and ridiculously punctual. By initially going in and out of the loft via scaffolding, we avoided most of the dust and rubble of previous building work. When they eventually cut through into the house, they did it behind heavy dust screens. What little mess there was within the house was always tidied up, swept away and mopped up before the end of each day. We found it very hard to imagine how our house was going to look with new stairs and how we were going to fit a bedroom, landing and bathroom up in the loft. Steve very patiently took the time to answer our questions by drawing sketches and even laying out the lengths of wood so we could see where the walls would eventually go. Just as well he did as I think we changed the position of the doors, all the walls and even the toilet about half a dozen times. Steve arranged everything from the scaffolding and skip hire through to all material deliveries, all electrical work and the plasterer. We were left with a fully-fitted bathroom and all we’ve had to do since is paint the walls and move in. 

TLC finished the work a week early and on budget. We really couldn’t be any happier with the end result.

From the outset it was apparent Steve really knew what he was talking about when it came to loft conversions! Throughout the process, from quotation to completion, he was professional, knowledgeable and really helpful with answering questions and resolving any issues that arose (there will always be some no matter how good the plans are!).
We particularly appreciated the fact that Steve was onsite every day (with his apprentice who was also great) and doesn’t leave a sub-team to get on with the work. This was one of our key factors in choosing him and the quality of the work is testament to this.
The quotation was accurate in terms of time and cost, and any unders/overs were discussed and agreed with us along the way.
We wouldn’t hesitate to recommend Steve and are happy for any future clients to speak to us if required as we’re really delighted with the end result.
